This endorsement is short and sweet, because somehow, writing at length about Pema Chödrön would feel like adding another stroke of paint to a Michelangelo.
All the books and articles I’ve read by Pema—and everything I’ve seen, heard, or experienced in relation to her—has struck a deep note of resonance within my heart. Her wisdom, compassion, humility, and humor are beyond compare.
If I were independently wealthy, I’d give Pema’s foundation whatever it needs. And I’d tell Pema to do whatever she wants, including going into retreat for the rest of her life. But if she did that, I would secretly hope she’d come out sometimes for the sake of the rest of us!
Pema is one of my longtime heroes. I am supremely grateful for how she has helped me and countless others to “be with” life in all its exquisite beauty, chaos, groundlessness, and glory. I’ve learned so much from Pema that I’ve lost track of where her teachings began and where they became part of my own body and soul.
